About Chi...
Chi is a natural energy source that is constantly
flowing all around us. Some people call it the
"universal life force." Within our bodies, chi is
equivalent to bioelectricity, which is essential for
maintaining the healthy nerve impulses that are required
for nourishing cells so that they can sustain and repair
themselves.
Chi is a fluid force. Like water, it can be diverted to
where it’s needed, to be more beneficial to our
well-being. Like water or air, chi also cycles endlessly
from one phase to the next. Obstructing the cycle
affects everything that depends on it. Like the
ecosystem of a forest, a decline in any of the species
affects the whole system. Chi management is very
important within your body, hence the popularity of such
practices as Tai Chi.
Ensuring effective chi flow can mean the difference
between health and illness. For example, the science of
acupuncture uses needles to stimulate and balance the
flow of chi to restore normal energetic balance.
All of the selections on our website involve chi
adjustments of various types. We believe that good
health and good Feng Shui are truly "all about chi"!

About Tong Ren Healing
What is Tong Ren?
Tong Ren is an alternative healing
technique based on the theory that blockages in the
body’s energy flow can cause pain or illness. Removing
these blockages restores the natural flow of chi,
allowing the body to naturally correct itself. Chi is
equivalent to bioelectricity, which is the energy that
runs your body.
The Tong Ren therapy system was developed by Tom Tam, a
prominent Boston area acupuncturist and healer. The
system is based on Tom’s clinical practice and research,
and utilizes both Western and Eastern medical thought.
Tom has a large following of people with serious
illnesses who have experienced positive results from
using his system.
How Does Tong Ren Work?
Tong Ren uses the acupuncture meridians to channel chi
and remove blockages in your energy system… it’s
actually a kind of acupuncture without needles. The
practitioner uses an acupuncture model, called a tong
ren (Chinese for “bronze man,” because the original
models were made out of bronze instead of plastic) as a
reference point for channeling the chi. There are no
known negative side effects, and you can learn to use
the technique yourself. Working with an experienced
healer can produce amazing results in a short time.
What is Tong Ren NOT?
Tong Ren is not psychotherapy. It is not a spiritual
practice, it is not related to any organized religion,
and it does not require you to subscribe to any
particular belief system in order to derive benefit from
it. It does not involve hypnosis or any sort of mind
control. There is no physical contact—or even close
proximity—required between you and the healer. Tong Ren
is not a cure, nor does it produce miracles. It’s simply
a technique that you can use to end your suffering and
get on with your life!
What is a Tong Ren
Session Like?
During the first session, you will provide information
about your condition, including what benefits you hope
to gain. We also discuss how to recognize improvement.
Most sessions are half an hour in length. It is very
important to observe the follow-up rest period—half an
hour in length—after a session, to allow the chi to run.
Many people find that this is a good time to take a nap!
During the session, you are required to do nothing other
than sit in a relaxed position. Although you can talk
during a session, it is probably more beneficial to
remain aware of the sensations in your body.
What Does Tong Ren Feel
Like?
At first, most people report that they feel warmth or
heat on their face. This sensation typically moves down
from the head to the arms, and then to the palms of the
hands. Some feel tingling in their hands or feet, like
being filled with warm ginger ale. Some people feel
their bodies becoming lighter; others feel their bodies
becoming heavier to the point that they cannot move.
Sometimes, people cry in an emotional release.
Afterwards, they feel very relieved.
Some people report feeling tired the day after the first
few sessions. When the body is healing, brain waves may
drop down to let the body focus on this process.
Clearing blockages also releases toxins that were
previously held within the body. It’s a good idea to
drink plenty of water before and after a session.
What Results Will I Experience?
Most people report feeling more relaxed and energetic.
Others report that their pain eases or their functioning
improves. Because everyone is different, each person
experiences results in their own way.
Is Tong Ren a Cure?
A
"cure" is a method or course of medical treatment used
to restore health. It implies that the source of health
is outside of you.
"Healing," on the other hand, taps
into the body's unique ability to restore itself to
health. In order to be successful, a therapeutic change
must take place. Chi Wiz techniques are alternative
healing modalities that use energy from the universal
life force (chi). The healer serves as a catalyst to
facilitate this process.

step.”
